Unleashing the Beauty of the World with Panorama Photography

The term panorama in Greek means (whole scene), Panorama is also known as wide photography, which is a special technique that ties multiple images from the same camera together to form a single wide vertical or horizontal image. Or it is a kind of wide photography that takes somewhat wide angle and photography is done in several ways, including using special wide-angle lenses or photographing the scene in parts and after photographing the required scenes, you open it with a special program such as Lightroom & Photoshop and choosing the merging feature until it is Merge all photos into one wide picture

Panorama photography is one of the most popular types of photography in the field of photography. You must have been exposed to a beautiful scene or landscape that seems to extend from the far left to the far right, which makes you move your head just to see everything. Panorama photography allows you to capture this scene with ease.

Types of panorama photography

There is more than one type of panorama shooting, which are as follows:

  • Wide-angle panoramic photos: Anything that resembles a wide-angle image covering less than 180 degrees, whether it is horizontal or vertical, wide-angle panoramas can look like regular photos except that it is composed of several images and thus will have greater resolution.
  • Panorama 180 degrees: Panorama images covering 180 degrees from left to right. This type of panorama appears to be very wide and covers a large area.
  • 360 degree panorama: A type of panorama that covers up to 360 degrees, this panorama looks very wide and covers the entire scene in one very, very wide image.
  • Spherical panoramic photos: Also known as (the planets), these are 360-degree panoramic images that are converted into a spherical image using post-imaging editing and processing programs.

Camera settings for panorama shooting

Before you start taking panoramic photos, you must change some settings on the camera. Here are these settings to set them on the camera:

  • 1- Shooting in “manual” mode: The most important thing in panoramic photos is to adjust the exposure, because it is necessary, no matter how bright or dark parts of the scene, your photos must have the same exposure, so I suggest shooting in manual mode to control all the elements that affect the exposure. For the image.
  • 2- Manual focus: Set the lens to manual focus instead of automatic. If you have a DSLR camera, focus the lens on something far away and then switch to manual focus because you do not want the camera to change focus every time you take a picture.
  • 3- ISO camera sensitivity: Make sure that "Auto ISO" is turned off and set the ISO to either 100 or 200.
  • 4- Aperture and shutter speed: the panoramic images want to focus everything and place it in the scene so make sure to set the aperture to a good number that will put everything in focus, including any elements in the foreground, and once the correct aperture is set, adjust the shutter speed to give fine-tuning. Good exposure to light in the image.
