Taking creative photos that are different from the usual always gives a
positive impression and adds a special touch to our photos, so I find it
very important for any photographer to try different methods and create the
scene. We've previously talked about how to take creative photos using
glass. I took a new experiment that came to my mind which is adding real
smoke to photos. Usually many people who work in need of prints on their
faces, I am a person who loves photo realism even though I know a lot of
editing on Photoshop.
Get smoky
I decided to share this experience with you from start to finish, the first
step is to get smoke !! How are we going to get a source of smoke? There are
machines like this: the Smoke Effect Machine, the price of which is about
the regular $ 30, in addition to the price of the Liquid Smoke machine,
which is about $ 10, and this type of machine is usually used in concerts
that burn the liquid by heating it by connecting the machine to electricity,
but this machine will only benefit us if We used to have an entrance for
electricity or in the studio, we can use it outside if we have a car close
to us using an electric amplifier, because in the car I own an amplifier
that converts a 12-volt car into 220 volts and 150 watts. I bought it at a
price of about 35 euros from a mall, which enables me to operate Many of the
studio's electrical appliances are outside
If you do not find a store that sells this type of device, you can get one
from the internet as an ac / dc inverter converter adapter for car. You
should focus on the outlet being compatible with the plug in your country.
The more power or wattage in the amplifier, it can operate larger devices
and its price is higher.
But in this case I didn't use anything from all of this. I just mentioned it
if it mattered to you, I used smoke bombs in this case, tried to make a home
bomb using ping pong balls and also bought prepackaged bombs from Amazon,
for the ones I made myself I needed paper Aluminum and ping pong balls made
of cellulose nitrate, which are known to ignite quickly and reach very high
temperatures. The bomb released dense smoke but it disappears quickly! In 10
seconds maximum, in addition to its strong smell, which causes suffocation
if inhaled. As for the ones that I purchased from Amazon, which are
characterized by many different shapes and colors, in addition to their
durability for a much longer period of more than 6 minutes, in addition to
being contaminated with less pollution compared to handmade.
Settings
As for the camera settings, it remains according to each person, but the
settings I used are the portrait settings, a wide aperture of 2.8 and a
medium shutter speed of 1/80 because the location of the shooting was
somewhat dark in addition to I used the flash that helped freeze the
movement further and gave the smoke a clearer composition in the image.
Where I did not use the flash the smoke appeared as a mist.
