DJI Pocket 2 includes a larger sensor, zoom mode, better autofocus

So what's new other than deleting “Osmo” from the name? For starters, the new DJI Pocket 2 now has a larger 1 / 1.7 sensor with a resolution of 16MP (the Osmo Pocket has a 12MP 1 / 2.3 sensor). There is also an HD mode that can take 64MP photos. The lens is now 20mm wider (full frame focal length equivalent) and has f / 1.8 aperture.

Maximum video resolution and frame rate as is - up to 4K (UHD) 60fps with 100Mbps bit rate. Additionally, HDR video recording has been added. DJI Pocket 2 also offers 8x aperture zoom using 64-megapixel mode or 4x lossless zoom in 1080p or 16-megapixel mode.

According to DJI, the autofocus has been redeveloped and uses a combination of Hybrid 2.0 AF of phase detection and contrast to increase its speed and accuracy. The DJI Pocket 2 weighs just 117g, which is about the same as the original Osmo Pocket. It provides up to 140 minutes of battery life.

Enhanced voice

DJI says it has completely reworked the audio capture in the new DJI Pocket 2. The so-called DJI Matrix Stereo System consists of four microphones, strategically placed away from the hand holding the camera. DJI says Directional Audio enhances audio recording from some microphones to capture as much detail as possible.

SoundTrack adjusts the sound, based on where the camera is facing, while the Audio Zoom narrows the sound field when zooming in the camera. To filter out unwanted background noises, optional wind noise reduction helps keep the sound clean in outdoor settings.

DJI Pocket 2 includes new upgrades like Fast Wake to instantly trigger the camera, Drop Aware to take preventative actions (not further specified) when it detects a gimbal has fallen, and Pause Recording to quickly pause video recording during playback. Preprogrammed smart modes include:
