The first Hollyland Lark 150 dual base wireless microphone with a very distinctive design. This new audio system has a range of 100 meters. This audio system consists of two combined transmitters with Lavalier microphones, one receiver, and a charging case.
After launching several wireless video transmission systems including the Hollyland Mars 300 Pro in recent years, the Chinese company Hollyland today announced its first wireless audio transmission system. Let's discuss the specs of the new Hollyland Lark 150 microphone.
The Lark 150 dual wireless microphone uses Smart Power-On frequency selection and frequency hopping (FHSS, 8,000 times per second). This enables to deliver a stable wireless audio connection of up to 100m (unobstructed line of sight) with a latency of less than 5ms.
The system operates on 2.4GHz AFH bandwidth. The sound quality should be good thanks to DSP (Digital Signal Processor) intelligent noise cancellation.
Sound and safety tracks
The Hollyland Lark 150 Dual Wireless Microphone Sound System provides three audio output modes - standard mono track, stereo track, and safety track. What is meant here by the safety path is that both channels get the same sound, but one gets it with 0 dB noise and the other is -6 dB.
This option protects against the possibility of acoustic clipping. The reference audio input level is -65 dB and the maximum input sound pressure level is 100 dB SPL (1 kHz @ 1 meter).
Charging case and battery life
The Hollyland Lark 150 kit comes with one receiver, two transmitters, and a portable charging case. The case itself uses a USB-C connector for charging. And when it comes to battery life, the transmitters should run for 4.5 hours each, and the receiver should run up to 7.5 hours. And the charging case should be able to charge the whole set 2.5x (charging time is 2 hours for RX and 1.5 hours for TX). The pairing of the two transmitters with the receiver is very fast (less than 3 seconds).
Receiver
The receiver is slightly larger (51g, 67 x 41 x 20.5mm) and features a cold shoe adapter for mounting. It has two gain switches with mute feature - one for each channel. These can also change the channels. Between these knobs, there is a small screen to monitor the audio and battery levels. On either side of it, there are two outputs for the 3.5mm jack - one for monitoring headphones and one for the camera input jack.
Price and availability in the market
This audio system will sell for 329 dollars (approx 293 euros plus VAT in Europe). On top of the two transmitters, one receiver, and the charging case, the kit also contains two lavalier microphones, a windbreaker, a 3.5mm TRS cable, and a USB-A to USB-C cable.
